Smokin’ Sunset Surf
With predominantly onshore winds, air quality on the Northwest Coast is some of the cleanest on the planet. The exception is during the seasons when slash burns or forest fire smoke makes it a bit smoky. As a painter however, that touch of smoke in the air contributes to some of the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets of the year. I happened upon this group of surfers enjoying a glassy evening surf session with evidence of a distant forest fire’s smoke filtering the setting sun.
