I was headed home at the end of a beautiful day both hungry and exhausted when I noticed the last hues of sunset radiating in the evening sky. I turned west not wanting to miss it and recognized immediately the potential for a beautiful painting. The colors reflecting in the still tide pools added to the sense of calm.

In the wee hours of the morning I awoke thinking again about the prior evening and at that point realized the symbolism of the moment. The tide pools reflecting the pink sunset hues were like ribbons, pink ribbons from the October sky.

As you likely know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do something. Carol and I will be donating a portion of each sale of this print to help beat this heartbreaking disease. With each sale of Limited Edition size “Ribbons” we will contribute $100 to help beat breast cancer and $50 per Open Edition size.
