Cannon Beach is anchored on the north and south by large basalt rocks known as “sea stacks”. One of my favorite places to be as the sun begins to rise is on the sand, among these rocks, beside the ocean. Every rock of size has been given a name, often because it resembles something or someone. Here from left to right are Lincoln, Silver Point, Jockey Cap, and Lady Rocks.
