Description
Summer days along the coast often start out gray and mild before the sun warms the land and the sea breeze kicks in. As I headed to the beach these Montbretia blooming along the trail caught my eye. They were swimming in a sea of green as the morning sun began lighting up their vibrant hues. The Northwest Coast is gray a lot of the time, but our mild winters and temperate summers create a natural “green house” where most everything flourishes. Some blossoms hang around until early winter and by January the color cycle starts anew to everyone’s delight.
