Bay Bound
I’ve always got my eye out for a painting because, well that’s my job. The Adventurer was headed into the Columbia river system pulling a load of something, probably some sort of petroleum. I’ve painted quite a few “boat paintings” over the years, but they are rarer and rarer. This watercolor came back to us from one of our collectors and still fits nicely in with my current body of work. I wouldn’t do much if anything different if I’d painted it today. Interestingly, as I looked back at the photographs I used as reference, there is another tug as well. It’s the Warrior, her sister tug pushing the barge. Maybe a painting with both is still in the works.
