The Ragged Edge
West of Highway 101 along the Pacific Coast there are endless trails to explore. This area on Neahkahnie Mountain is known as Elk Flats because of the Roosevelt Elk herd frequently found there. Just to the right is Short Sands Beach where I’ve enjoyed many a day surfing with family and friends. To the left is beautiful Manzanita Beach where I’ve windsurfed for years. The trail winds along the cliff and points where inspiration comes easy. You really do feel like you are on the ragged edge of our spectacular coastline.
